DJ Jonay 

DJ Jonay, born Jonay Martínez Amador in Santa Cruz de Tenerife (Canary Islands, Spain) in 1979, is a veteran DJ and producer specializing in oldskool rave, breakbeat hardcore, jungle, and drum & bass.

He began collecting vinyl in 1991 and made his debut at just 12 years old in 1992 at the iconic Ku nightclub matinée in Tenerife. With over 30 years in the scene (as of 2026), he has performed at major clubs across Spain, as well as festivals and events in the UK, Europe, and the US.

DJ Jonay has been a key part of Ibiza’s oldskool scene for more than a decade as a resident and regular performer at Slip Back In Time, the long-running rave brand established in 2000 dedicated to bringing authentic 90s rave energy to the island.

He has long collaborated with Centreforce (the legendary pirate-turned-legal radio station and rave collective, often stylized as Centreforce), appearing on their events, broadcasts, and birthday specials. In recent years, he launched a monthly show residency at Centreforce, further cementing his role in the oldskool and rave community.

Known as a pioneer of hardcore in the Canary Islands and a passionate tribute artist to early 90s UK rave labels, DJ Jonay continues to deliver high-energy sets that keep the spirit of the rave alive.
